How to Clash Prints (and Look Effortlessly Modern at Any Age).

Print clashing is not about being loud.

It is about confidence, creativity, and knowing who you are.

At Laundry B, we have always believed that women who wear mixed prints are not trying to impress; they are expressing something. A sense of ease. A modern spirit. An instinctive eye and, most importantly, the confidence to dress for themselves.

If you have ever admired print clashing on other women but quietly thought 'not for me', this is your invitation to think again.

What Print Clashing Really Says About Me and You.

To me, print clashing has always signalled a woman who is modern yet effortless, never contrived. Someone who dresses with instinct rather than rules, but still understands balance.

I first fell in love with mixing prints as a fashion student, trawling the vintage rails at Afflecks Palace in Manchester. One day, I found an old pair of men's blue striped pyjama trousers and a 1960's floral blouse. The colours worked perfectly. I threw on my battered Levi denim jacket and wore that outfit on repeat until it practically fell apart.

That feeling never left me, and it is still the same feeling I want our Laundry B women to rediscover, especially now.

Print Clashing Over 50: Why it Works so Well.

There is a myth that mixing prints is 'too much' as we get older. In reality, the opposite is true.

Prints are brilliant at distracting the eye; they move your attention away from the areas we are often most critical of and towards the whole look instead. When done well, print clashing creates flow, interest, and confidence, not bulk.

For women whose bodies have changed, whose priorities may have shifted, and who are now finding their way back to themselves, this kind of dressing can feel quietly powerful.

You are not dressing to show off.

You are dressing to feel like you again.

The Laundry B Rules for Clashing Prints (Yes, There Are Some).

Print clashing does not mean chaos. There are principles, and we keep them wearable.

Keep colour intentional. The easiest way to mix prints successfully is through colour.

Stay tonal (different prints, similar shades), go confidently opposite on the colour wheel.

Our community has always loved fashion. Life may have interrupted for a while, family, work, responsibility, but style does not disappear. It just waits.

Print clashing is not about dressing younger. It is about dressing honestly.

Creative. Confident. Effortless

And very much yourself.
