They Look Like PJ's? Oh Wow Thank you!
They look like PJ’s? ‘Oh wow-Thank you!’
There is a very particular kind of compliment I encourage you to accept with a smile:
“They look like pyjamas.”
When done properly, that is not criticism. It is code for something far more interesting — effortless, assured, quietly modern and cool.
I have always loved a printed co-ord. For years, the only versions that truly excited me were luxury pyjama sets — exquisite fabrics, beautiful prints, relaxed silhouettes that moved beautifully. I wear them everywhere. And am constantly asked where they were from.
No one ever realised they were technically sleepwear.
That fascinated me.
I searched for daywear that captured that same vibe — but without looking like I had fell out of bed. I never quite found it. So I designed it.
Not pyjamas.
But something that gave a nod to them.
The Art Of Dressing With Ease
The difference between looking dressed and looking overdressed is subtle. It sits in cut, proportion and print scale.
Designers have long understood this. Coco Chanel was the first to liberate women from rigidity by introducing fluid tailoring that moved with the body. The modern pyjama-inspired co-ord lives in that lineage. It is relaxed, yes — but it is not careless. It borrows from sleepwear but is engineered for the street.
The trousers are cut in a gentle barrel shape that skims rather than clings. Shirts balance masculine and feminine lines. Smocks have movement without excess. The fabrics hold their structure when needed and are fluid when necessary. The prints — gingham, plaid, stripes, florals — feel intentional rather than whimsical.
The result is phenomenal and undeniably Laundry b
For Women Who Know Themselves
What I love most about this silhouette is its generosity.
It doesn’t require youth.
It doesn’t demand a particular body shape.
It doesn’t cause discomfort.
It relies instead on confidence.
There is something incredibly modern about a woman who chooses comfort and polish. Who understands that true luxury is often quiet. Who dresses creatively, without looking as though she tried too hard or is silly enough to pay inflated prices.
Worn together, a co-ord has presence. Worn separately, each piece becomes part of a wider wardrobe conversation — the shirt with denim, the trousers with knitwear, a scarf introduced for an artful clash.
Nothing feels forced.
Reframing the Compliment
So when someone says, “They look like pyjamas,” I take it as recognition.
Recognition that you have mastered proportion.
Recognition that you understand fashion.
Recognition that you are relaxed and confident in your choices.
Because effortless is the hardest thing to achieve. To look as though you got dressed in moments — and yet appear entirely considered — is a skill, but don’t sweat it, we do this for you.
It signals experience.
It signals taste.
And perhaps most importantly, it signals that you are dressing for yourself.
If that looks like pyjamas to someone else?
Even better.
