Why Conrad?
Why Conrad?
Conrad was my dad.
He passed away more than 25 years ago, but he is probably the reason I care so deeply about fabric.
Luxury wasn’t accessible in the way it is now. So once a year, in the January sales, we would go on a day trip to the nearby city to a small menswear boutique. He would invest in beautiful fabrics — intelligently chosen, realistically priced. To point out, Conrad was an engineer, not a creative, so god only knows where his bougie fabric taste came from!
I would sit in the back seat on the way home, running my hands over his haul. Feeling the softness and quality. I suppose that’s where my standards were quietly set.
Conrad believed in buying well. Not buying foolishly. He was a northerner after all.
Choosing premium when the price made sense.
The Conrad knit is my tribute to his philosophy.
Luxury and quality at sensible prices. Conrad was the most sensible man ever.
The Conrad Cotton Knit – Italian Luxury Without the Luxury Price Tag
There is something powerful about a piece you reach for without thinking.
The top that works with everything.
The knit that feels expensive against your skin.
The shape that quietly elevates your entire wardrobe.
Meet the Conrad Cotton Knits — our Italian-made, fine-gauge essentials designed to look and feel premium, without the premium hesitation.
At just £18, they are proof that luxury doesn’t need to shout — or cost a fortune.
Italian Fine Gauge Cotton Knitwear, Made & Garment Dyed in Italy
Crafted from a 50% premium grade cotton blend — a high cotton percentage for a blend — the Conrad knit has a soft, breathable, almost organic handle.
It is:
• Fine gauge knit
• Cool to the touch
• Naturally stretchy
• Structured yet relaxed
• Beautifully shape-retaining at the wide boat neckline
The neckline holds its form wash after wash.
The knit machine washes beautifully.
The garment dye process in Italy gives every colour depth and character you simply don’t see in mass production.
The finish is softly chalked and gently muted — never shiny or flat. Just quiet luxury, premium looking.
Two Shapes. Endless Possibilities.
Both styles share the same flattering wide boat neckline and signature sleeve seam — an inside-out detail that gives subtle, thoughtful edge.
The difference lies in proportion. A
nd proportion is everything.
The Conrad Box Knit – The Elevated Tee Substitute
Shorter in length.
Wide elbow-length sleeve.
Clean, architectural silhouette.
The Conrad Box Knit is your upgraded classic tee — only smarter.
It looks exceptional:
• With barrel jeans
• Under tailoring
• Over dresses
• Layered over the Slouch knit
The proportions are intentional — boxy, not bulky, relaxed without looking undone.
Polished. Modern. Effortless.
The Conrad Slouch Knit – Relaxed Everyday Luxury
Longer length.
Relaxed long sleeve.
Effortless drape.
The Conrad Slouch Knit is the piece you will find yourself reaching for again and again.
It works with absolutely everything:
• French tucked in denim
• Left loose
• Styled beneath the Box Knit for beautifully balanced layering
The curled hem adds to its organic, lived-in elegance — nothing forced, nothing overworked.
Together, the two styles layer perfectly. The proportions simply work.
Designed to Be Collected
We currently offer approximately 10 colours, with new dyes introduced with each drop.
Oatmeal and Earth are bestsellers because they showcase the rustic, organic quality of the cotton blend so beautifully.
The dyes take to this knit stunningly. They are rich yet softened. Chalky, muted, expensive-looking.
Our customers don’t buy one. They build wardrobes.
Because when a piece is £18 — yet looks and feels like something far more considered — it makes sense to own the neutral, the layering shade, and the one that lifts everything else.
And once you try one, it’s very hard not to come back for another.
The Wardrobe Foundation You’ll Wear With Everything
These are not trend pieces.
They are wardrobe foundations.
They layer beautifully together.
They sit perfectly under jackets.
They elevate denim instantly.
They travel effortlessly.
They wash and wear and repeat.
They make getting dressed simpler.
And sometimes, that ease is the greatest luxury of all.
